Our Creature of the Month is the Bull Shark!
This month we’re spotlighting the bull shark. Recent trips to the Bat Islands have been incredible, with multiple close encounters and memorable sightings. Bull sharks are powerful and curious, often seen cruising near reefs and channels, and witnessing them in their element is an unforgettable experience. Adults typically reach 7–11 feet (2–3.5 m) and can weigh several hundred pounds; they’re highly adaptable, inhabiting coastal waters, estuaries, and even traveling far upriver where low-salinity tolerance lets them hunt.
Join Our Beach Cleanups!
We’re proud members of the Bandera Azul Ecológica (B.A.E.) Playa Potrero committee and join their beach cleanups every month to protect our coastline. Together, we collect trash, document waste, and restore habitats, reminding our community that discarded trash, especially plastics, harms marine life, disrupts ecosystems, and can travel far from shore. It’s the same debris that threatens the sharks, turtles, and rays we love to see on our dives — which is why our Dive Against Debris program matters year-round.
Join us at the next cleanup and help keep the ocean healthy for generations to come. Watch our announcement on WhatsApp and social media for an underwater cleanup in September.
Congrats to Our New Students
Huge congratulations to our newest graduates, welcome to the dive community! Anais, Zoe, Leon, Lucie, Nadia, Bart, Stefanie, Fernando, Diego, and Thais have all completed their PADI Open Water certifications. Fantastic work mastering new skills and beginning your underwater adventures. We can’t wait to see where your dives take you next!
Remember: you don’t need a certification to experience the underwater world. If you’re curious, try a Discover Scuba Diving (DSD), no prior certification required. Message us today to book a DSD or discuss your next course.
